collapsing night | stop dreaming

(no subject)

I apologize for posting again yet so soon.
But I had to swing by to leave a note before I leave perth, hopefully not for good.

Thank you so much to everybody who came by the stall.
mariko_senpai and myself couldn't be more grateful and appreciative.
We love Perth and have both agreed that Perth lolis have been the best so far.
You girls were warm and friendly and welcomed us 'foreign' lolis like two long lost friends.
We were overwhelmed and hope to come back to Perth again, perhaps for Wai-con as we cannot wait till Supanova Perth again. It's too long a wait.

Photos and other reports will be up on oz_lolita and egl if you are interested. Otherwise, I hope to stay in touch with you girls, please feel free to add me to your flist if you like, I'd love to get to know more of everybody!

Till then, stay safe and happy. <3

This is the first time One Day in Paradise will be going down to Perth and we are excited! Personally, I've never been to Perth before, so that makes me even more excited. *flails*
I'm not sure if all of you ladies are on oz_lolita but I thought I'd drop by and say hi here too.

More about Odip, Supanova, and myselfCollapse )
And to keep to the spirit of it all: Here's a bit about myself

Name: Celeste
Location: Melbourne - but I travel around a lot a lot alot !
Age: 24... 25 soon tho. Yay cheaper car insurance.
Preferred Style: Sweet and Classic. Sometimes Aristocrat.
What "Lolita" means to you: A pain in my wallet! Uh. I wear the dresses everyday, it's not so much a lifestyle thing, but rather it's what i wear, what I feel comfortable in, just like how people live in Jeans. I'm a teacher by trade really, so the kids love it when I wear loli to work. XD
How you got into the fashion: Manifest, many many years ago! Back when there were only 2 lolis in Melbourne.. but it exploded shortly after that. Few months later, I organized the first Melbourne loli picnic, and never looked back since. =)

That's it for now, see you at Supanova Perth!!!

Who's going? Which day(s) are you going? What are you wearing?
I'm personally curious because I'd love to see more of you Perth Lolitas~ ^^

As usual we will have a photographer. This may be the last time Cosplay Realm will have an event in Perth.
This will be a day of fun to catch up with old friends and meet new ones.

Wonderland Teaparty

Hi Guys,
Sorry I haven't been in touch, uni has been overly hectic. I spoke to someone else at the tea party place today, and she said that they actually needed numbers three weeks in advance (I'd spoken to a new girl before and she said it should be ok two weeks in advance), so I'll probably move it to the end of June instead (and get a vote on what day to do it).

This is mostly my fault, so I'd like to invite you guys to a tea party anyway! Let's all meetup on the Saturday afternoon in Hyde park and I'll bring teas and some nibblies.

Wonderland Teaparty, May 31st

"Alice will show you just how to have an unreal teaparty, with oh so proper etiquette, fanciful food and drinks served on the very best china, and lots of Wonderland fun and games"

The Fairy Shop in Fremantle has recently expanded with a quaint little shop next door that offers Wonderland teaparties. Given everyone's enthusiasm when we came across it at the last meetup, I've gone ahead and made a tentative booking for 11.30 am Sunday, May 31st. If you would prefer Saturday, May 30th please comment. I'll announce the finalised date on Wednesday.

The price will be $16.50 per person. I need to have at least 9 people interested to make this go ahead. I need to let them know final numbers by next weekend so that I can pay a deposit. If you want to come along please leave a comment with your email address and the number of tickets you want so that I can forward you my bank details. I will need payment upfront, preferably before next weekend. I'm afraid this is necessary so that I'm not stuck paying for anyone who might pull out at the last minute.

Wonderland Tearoom, Flying Teapots
Shop 8, The Piazza, South Terrace, Fremantle
11.30-12.30 Sunday, 31st May

EDIT - Saturday seems to be better, so I'll look at getting the date changed. How is 4pm Saturday for everyone?

TV Cake

Hajimemashite minnsan :)
It's a shame that I joined this community right after a meetup, but it can't be helped. Please allow me to introduce myself:

Name: Cake (aka Karlee)
Location: central Perth (NoR)
Age: 21 (1987)
Preferred Style: Any! I love all lolita, although currently I am probably most interested in amai lolita.
What "Lolita" means to you: Hmm... Most of all, lolita is about being cute and independent.
How you got in to the fashion: I don't really recall, but most likely through visual-kei/j-rock or anime/manga.
Sorry, I have no photos currently.

Um... So, I'm currently studying Japanese at a third-year level both at uni (Curtin) and TAFE ( part-time). I joined this community because, although I know one or two people who might appreciate lolita, I don't think I know anyone who actually is lolita. I would like to meet you all and become friends ^_^ Where do the lolita of Perth exist? I haven't seen any roaming the streets.
As for myself, mostly I get all dressed up for Sin (the Saturday-nightclub at Gilkison's on Murray st). I would like to do more, especially just for every-day things, but with a limited wardrobe, I prefer to save my outfits for more special occassions.

If you are interested in getting to know me, I'm happy to chat on msn (viiicake at g mail), over livejournal, snail mail....

Also, I don't want to be rude, being a new member, but I was surprised that the layout for a lolita community is so plain.... I'm happy to find a pretty customCSS layout if no one has the time :)

Event Meet-up!

Hello Darlings!

I promised a meet-up and here it is, finally!

The plan is still much the same. Lolita's and those associated with the lolita style are invited to attend a historical tour of the Maritime Museum at 10am.

We shall picnic at 1pm onwards at the central park in Fremantle (near the train line and centre of town. The one with all the trees and across from the Esplanade). Any J-Fashion style may attend - you don't specifically have to be lolita! If you want to come in normal clothes, that's fine too!

After this, we shall have some photo time and then you may do as you wish or you may join the main group while we explore the best parts of Fremantle such as the markets, Fairy shop and other such interesting locations (including lots of photos along the way, I'm sure!)

When: Sunday, 19th April
10am Maritime Museum, Fremantle
1pm Fremantle Park

How much: ADULTS $10.00
Picnic, of course, is free :D

What to bring:
- Your lovely selves and any friends you may wish to attend, those friends may be real, imaginary, doll or teddy-like in nature.
- Cash for shopping or at least a drink and admission costs should you be coming to the museum
- Something to sit on should you be attending our picnic
- Something to eat and/or drink to share with the group. Should you be bringing something, please post here what you intend to bring so we don't double up on things. Also, the more savory the better as many people tend to bring sweets and we don't want to be sick loli's from too much sugar!
- Camera's :D
- Your bestest, happiest attitudes and smiles ^^

Why a Sunday, you may ask? Because there was not a single Saturday that I could find that I had free :( So the only way I can do this is to hold it on a Sunday! I hope that you can make it!
